Ho Ho Ho SEOcret Santa 2010 – What Did Everyone Get?
Happy Christmas Eve to all you SEOcret Santas, SEOs and honorary SEOs!
We’ve got an enormous list of tweets and photos from gifts that have made their way to recipients below, but before I introduce all those I thought I’d give you a little summary of the last 3 incredibly fast weeks since the idea was first conceived.
You might remember the first blog post we posted here that mentioned briefly about how #SEOcretSanta began. Essentially it began with a conversation on Twitter about recommended digital marketing books and resulted in a tweet from @SarahCarling coming up with the idea of a Secret Santa amongst SEOs:
That was on the evening of Saturday 3rd December and all it took for @DanBarker and I (@JoannaButler) to set to work. By lunchtime on Sunday we’d registered domains, set up hosting and just a few hours later we’d got the WordPress site up, a bunch of basic rules and started spreading the word.
Then the rest was thanks to you guys, the first ever SEOcret Santas!
You retweeted, blogged about us, encouraged your friends to sign up and generally helped us spread the word around the awesome community of us SEOs.
In total we had 52 SEOcret Santas from: UK, USA, Australia, Denmark and even Gibraltar. It was a true international secret Santa made possible through Amazon wishlist URLs which meant anyone could be assigned to anyone. We even had an errant SEOcret Santa:
Unfortunately due to the close proximity to Christmas day when we got set up, and the fact many places have been overcome with snow hampering delivery of your superb Christmas gifts, we still have a large number of presents yet to be received. So we’re hereby declaring an extended Christmas to all SEOs and will do a follow up blog post in a week or so when we’ve picked up on more tweets and photos of gifts delivered!
So, without much further ado, may I present to you the awesome gifts that have been sent and received so far!
Please feel free to reveal yourselves as people’s SEOcret Santa in the comments!

Well my favourite is still Rob’s Spam House!! We had some inside info on it and I have absolutely no idea to this day how I kept it to myself! Well done everyone who got involved – you all reacted so quickly to buy and mail presents. Hopefully the remaining gifts will be rounded up and posted by the ummm real Santa tonight

Seriously though, hats off to the ingredient provider Chris!
I’ve been inspired by a few of the gifts seen so far. I’ve done a Mat Lucas over the past week or so saying “I want one”
